'tis the season

This has been kinda of an odd holiday season for me. I think mostly b/c Hanukkah was so early and we celebrated that while I was home in PHILA that now that i'm back in LA it feels like my holiday is done. And the fact that i'm hanging local during Christmas always makes it feel a bit different too--to not be around all my friends from home. But I must say--i'm quite looking forward to the down time. I have a few days off from work and in b/w we're technically closed (workload and client permitting), but I have some projects to keep an eye on but even so, should be pretty stress-free and short, easy days. YESSSSSSSSS.

So I look forward to the RAIN stopping (crazy LA weather, 6 straight days of constant rain, non stop) and having some time to stroll the beach, catch up on books I've wanted to read, check out some movies and spend some time with friends here. I have a couple places to stop on Christmas Eve and then Christmas Day at the Krogmanns--Mike's famous cooking and of course bringing gifts for the little girls. Should be fun...already dying for his homemade peppermint ice cream. YUM.

Yesterday I had a holiday dinner with 7 of my girlfriends here--we decided to do a thanksgiving themed menu since we all were apart over that holiday and then combine that with a White Elephant gift exchange. I wound up with a super cool photograph shot by my friend Jess of the venice beach scene--in black and white--matted and framed in a cool silver frame. Can't wait to hang it! And my gift was well received as well so it was quite fun. I made both apple and pumpkin pie, both went over well but way too much left over as we were all pretty stuffed by then.

So tis the season of holiday soirees, but most of all, tis the completion of 2010. I feel like saying "f-off 2010" and in fact that is what i'm saying. so i'm not sending holiday cards...just not up for it this year, but i am saying to everyone: BRING ON 2011!
