for life.

Picking up from my last post -- I've officially been inaugurated into the community of Vedic Meditators. And with this bracelet, I will be reminded of my daily commitment to meditate 20 minutes 2x a day to slowly but surely strengthen my body and soul. It's hard to say this early on if I've noticed much difference but I did have a very clear moment of clarity around a business idea I've been mulling over in my head. So that was encouraging.
And one of the aspects of having gone through this past weekend with Light Watkins I like the most is the idea that he's now my teacher for life. That's right -- what you put forth in initiation fees basically buys you a "lifetime membership" if you will. And if his brand promises what he says it does (which already I trust that it will) then I think I'm going to be very rewarded by my purchase. In fact, I already reached out to him 1:1 via email since class ended inquiring about his POV on happiness and weight loss and how meditation can also fuel that. And he sent back such an informative, thorough and authentic response, I was blown away.
In my own experience this past year I've made such changes to my lifestyle and life in general -- all falling directly inline with what I've defined for myself based on who I am and what I want -- that I've actually lost about 20 lbs. And in following what Light was teaching this past weekend, when we become one with ourselves, and we're truly our own source of happiness, well all sorts of good things happen -- including weight loss. So rather that worrying something might be wrong w/ me (b/c I've already gone down that road and all seems to be "fine" according to my Drs) I'm going to embrace this and recognize that for the past 15 years or so I've been carrying around so much damn stress that I think my body was holding on to a bit of access weight that has since fallen off as I've gotten myself aligned and in balance. Pretty phenomenal how the body and mind can, and do work together.
So I'm already so inspired by not just the richness of content that Light taught me over the weekend but also by his committment to do as he says and to show up for us, his students, over and over throughout time. Pretty fantastic. If he's not the walking talking testiment to how meditation and overall happiness can make you feel than I don't know what is. I just know that I'm all about feeding my soul with those who have already drank from the fountain of happiness and are going back for more, just like I am.
