Have you ever had moments in your life when on paper the "perfect thing" appeared but you just weren't ready for it? Maybe it was bad timing like you just accepted a new job so having a perfect one pop up feels off. Or maybe you recently broke up with someone and meeting a great person feels wrong. Or maybe you're able to see a bit deeper inside yourself and realize that you're not happy in one or many aspects of your life so until you can get that right, any opportunity isn't going to feel right.
I know I've been there yet looking back I'm not 100% sure I realized I was in that unhappy spot and as a result my rose colored glasses were quite fogged out :) I think for you to know deep inside that you're not ready for something is to be incredibly self aware. But I also challenge you to consider -- are you telling yourself you're not ready because of something else? More times than not fear. A lot of times we block ourselves from the exact opportunities that are right for us. Simply by letting our mind do all the talking and planning.
Someone once said to me -- when you get those gut instincts, when the fork in the road appears and an opportunity you didn't see coming appears, listen to it. That doesn't always mean follow it, but don't ignore the sign; your inner voice telling you something. Because they don't come often -- those opportunities to have our own "ah-ha moment." We may look back and only be able to count on few fingers how many times that's happened to us -- that we were given a sign or had a strong instinct about something. I believe it's rare, and that means it's worth listening to.
So when it comes to the readiness factor - make sure you dig deep to really understand why you don't feel ready and don't forget to quiet the mind and let your inner voice send you a sign.
