Out to the open road you forge
Without a compass you shall seek
signs from within guiding you toward light
climbing in pursuit of the highest peak.
Sifting through mud, thick and mess
questioning every ounce of you
Covering the distance yet seeing no gain
wondering if you will ever feel new.
Allowing the darkness that surrounds
to shine the stars into sight
Trusting that when we keep rising
we know we still have fight.
Feeling the distance between your strides
the potholes are fewer and far between
As the fog lifts to reveal the view
you find yourself reflected in the scene.
