my EPIC 40th birthday!

WOW, i'm still flying high from my 40th birthday weekend! I'm not quite sure how to describe how amazing of a weekend it truly was. From friday night happen hour in a sassy dress and heels with my friend Jen to not wanting to go home just yet, I took myself to the club to dance to 80s music until 12:30am when I was officially 40. I knew from that moment on this decade was going to be different because the younger me would not have taken myself out dancing. But I looked hot and was ready to go!

Saturday / my 40th was welcomed with lots of love, texts, phone calls, flowers, gifts, and friends. My brother Shawn was my first morning call and then the phone rang from there. My dear friend Shannon picked me up at Noon and we had some bubbly to say cheers and then off to East Texas we went for my skydiving adventure. Her husband and his 19 year old daughter decided to also jump and Shannon made for the perfect cheerleader including having drinks, birthday cupcakes with a candle and snacks for all of us when we landed. So kind, so special. So grateful for the special people I've met here in Austin.

The skydiving experience was unlike anything I've ever experienced and may never experience again (although I can see how it's addicting!). I can't quite find the words so I'll let the video speak for itself!

Then off to lovely french restaurant where me and 8 of my austin friends and cuz had a yummy dinner outside in a cute Austin courtyard where I had steak and wine and dessert - YUM. By the time I was one full day into my birthday I was ready for bed! Only to wake up the next day and enjoy the super kind and generous gift card my friends gave me to the W hotel Spa where I spent a few hours getting every inch of me rubbed down and then out to the epic Sunday pool party the W throws in the summer. I made some new friends, definitely made some memories and had an amazing time.

WOW - all I can say is GO ME. If 40 is all about loving yourself, having the wisdom to do things better, and having FUN I am 100% ready for this next decade.
