Happy Halloween

Another Halloween, my 2nd in LA and with Sarah--always a good time. This year I decided to make use of the hot red boots that were part of last year's costume--Twister--as my inspiration. So I decided to be my own super hero--Super Jen! So that's what I went as last night for the party a bunch of us went to. Sadly my super hero enjoyed a bit too much Captain Morgan and that cut the evening a bit short but good times were still had. Everybody represented with a costume--it's fun how into the holiday everyone gets. Nostalgic, I love it.

My work also had a halloween contest, first prize got an iPad. I opted to use last year's Twister outfit for that b/c the stress of shopping for two outfits was more effort than I was up for. And good thing I did b/c the woman who won is 2 weeks out from having a baby and she came as pregnant Barbie--but brought in a man-made Mattel box and then she stood inside of it as the packaging--it was exceptionally well done (see picture) so she was very deserving of the #1 prize. Good times--we had a pizza party for lunch and everyone was in full spirit.

The job is going well, it's a job and not my whole life which I'm quite enjoying. It's just what I wanted. Beyond that, not too much new...kinda missing the leaves at home and the thought of Fall but I'll be there soon enough for Thanksgiving so getting excited for that. It's been far too long since I've seen the kids--I really miss them. Especially remembering how we would always trick or treat together.

That's all for now...not feeling my fine self the day after my over indulgence so I'm calling it a night.

  1. Just spent some time catching up on all of your blog posts since August. We had a complete computer meltdown and lost all of the emails. Of course this is where your blog address was listed. You are truly amazing, Jen! I smiled, teared up, and smiled again. If you get a chance send me your email address. Loved the Halloween costumes and you looked great in them. Very glad to hear you found a new job and hope you are happy in it. Keep healing! It certainly did sound like your mom had a hand in the therapist choice.

    Love,
    Deb
