I'm employed!

Last summer when I told everyone what I was looking for in my move to LA, among other things I wanted to find a job that would allow me to run a large account, have a team reporting into me and ideally be on the "west side" so my commute could be 10-15 minutes. And most of all, something that I could love and enjoy but also have work/life balance.

Last October I landed a great job with great people but it was 50 minutes from my house, it was a start up so I had little to no staff and it was intense hours that evolved over time. Given the year I had, I knew I needed to take time for myself to heal and after soul searching and remembering what I wanted in the first place, I set out to find it. And just like fate, I found it.

So now this October, I'll be starting at an agency called DonatWald + Haque and will be running the eHarmony account. The agency is a perfect mid sized shop, the account is massive in size and international, I'll have two strong mid level people reporting to me and the best part is it's THREE blocks from my house--I can walk! They gave me an incredible offer that I accepted today and I'm just so very excited. It almost feels too good to be true.

And there's a part of me that, although I know I searched high and low for the right opportunity, feels my Mom picked this place out for me. When I walked the 3 blocks to the interview I realized that the office is right above the Benetton clothing store--where since i was 10 was my favorite store to shop in with my Mom. I just smiled when I realized that was the location of the agency and thought my mom had something to do with this. In addition to the fact that I'm running the eHarmony account and I'm sure Mom thinks that will help find me a hubby :)

So all in all, I couldn't be happier with this news. It's been a very long year and I'm finally feeling like I see a light at the end of the tunnel and this certainly helps. I feel incredibly grateful that I was fortunate enough to take the time that I did and now I'm even more grateful to be starting what seems to be an incredible new opportunity.

First day is Monday, wish me luck!
