It's been since December of 2008 that I've gone on a proper vacation. Despite having a lot of days that I have not worked this past year and a half those days consisted of packing and selling my condo in phila, saying goodbye to my family/friends, moving across the country, finding a new apt and unpacking, finding a job, etc. Oh and then there was 2010 when I had 7 weeks off to experience the worse thing ever with my mom and then several months off after that to try and learn how to accept all that had happened to me. And any day I've taken off of work since then has been to spend with family & friends back on the east coast, which while that is lovely, it's not exactly "VACATION."
So i'm taking a proper, much needed beach vacation--and I'm hitting Maui with a couple gal friends. No idea what the enclosed picture is but I found it online and it looks good to me! We're still sorting out our exact trip but we have the flights booked for before/during/after memorial day weekend in May. CANNOT WAIT.
I'm sure some of my readers have been--esp my favorite Uncle Sherb--so please do email me any tips, places/things to do, places to stay etc. My friends are real good at researching trips and planning so I'm kinda letting them take the lead but I think we'll wind up getting together one day soon to plot it all out. So send along any advice, please. Should be a great time.
In more near term news, I'm about to jump in the car to drive to San Diego for the day to see my cousin Jody who's in town for business. So fun to get to hang on the west coast for a change :) And its the second cousin I got to see this week--my other cousin/big sis Sheryl was in town this past week for work so we got to meet for dinner. I love when family comes to me--it's awesome! So off I go...until my next entry, cheers :)
