the journey or the destination
sometimes we're so focused on a destination that we forget to enjoy the journey. as i set out to be a successful entrepreneur, a leader of my own vision, it's tough to not lose sight of the journey. so today is about stepping back, taking in the view, reveling where i stand today, knowing where i'm headed and not stressing about how long it takes to get there. how long have i said i'm ready to paint a new canvas for myself? pretty much since i set foot on california soil 2.5 years ago. and now i'm finally doing it, let's toast to that! so in honor of the photo i share here, i'm celebrating the colorful days. like the fact that i'm 2 months and 2 weeks in to having my own company and i've already landed 1 marketing consulting client, 3 new coaching clients, and have an exciting proposal out there waiting for feedback and another big meeting almost locked in. while of course i wish there was more...i'm also recognizing i've done quite a bit in these 10 weeks and that's exciting. exhausting, but definitely exciting. i've always said when there's a will there's a way. and i just can't imagine for how hard i'm working and how much energy i'm putting into this new canvas that it won't paint a beautiful picture. and hopefully that picture allows me to be financially secure, but that's not the focus today...today's it's about the journey :)
when is the last time you stepped back and took a good look? how do things look? how do you feel? sometimes we're so stuck in the day to day, or the destination, that we forget to enjoy the view. so here's to seeing where you are today, seeing if you like what you see, and if you don't, seeing how you can paint something different. and of course if you're feeling stuck or don't know what brush to start with, i'm for hire :)
