A grand finale

Dad and I concluded his visit with a lovely day touring Venice and the canals and then finishing up that night at Dodger Stadium seeing the Phillies whip the Dodgers---even saw a home run! And I never knew dad played baseball in high school--it was quite a fun father daughter outing and something we've actually never done. And before we knew it, it was 5am and time to hit the airport. We both truly enjoyed each other's company so much...we chatted on the phone today and Dad said "i miss you" and i said i miss you too, I enjoyed having my roommate this past week.

What an incredible week...the timing was ideal--Dad definitely came at a time when I truly needed him, even more than I think I realized. And it was so nice to have him out to my new state and not have to worry about the stress of a job--it was truly a vacation. Dad was so incredibly generous and just having him with me to talk to and see and experience all that I love out here means more to me than he'll probably ever know. It was truly a perfect way to wrap up "summer" and what will hopefully be close to the end of my unpaid time off. I hope to be making some decisions about a job in the upcoming weeks so stay tuned. And for now, I'm cherishing the days I still do have "free" and I'm enjoying the good days as they come...and still enjoying the high I felt having my dad see and enjoy my new California life :)
