Today I'm up at 5:45AM which is VERY early for me (it's still dark!). I decided to take a 4 week boot camp to get myself into shape--mainly to work areas I never exercise by just running or doing yoga (both of which i've fallen behind in). So I'm hoping in taking advantage of my "no commute to work" and put the morning hours to good use and kick each day off with a good workout.
M/W/F we meet near a rose garden overlooking the ocean (not bad!) where we use weights etc I'm told. Then Tues/Thurs are cardio days and we either meet on the beach of down near the infamous Santa Monica Stairs--I have a feeling they may become part of the workout on Thursdays. Ugh, god help me.
Of course last night I woke up every hour afraid my alarm clock wasn't going to go off--like that feeling when you're waking up for the airport so early and you're so excited about the trip you're about to take. Something tells me I won't be having that problem for all the mornings that follow when I'm waking up sore as s**t! But for now I'm excited to kick this off and see what it's all about.
I already had the pre-meet with the instructor, Adam. He took my "measurements" and percent body fat--god, that wasn't fun. I'm in the "fair" category, which anyone that is familiar with this knows that is on the wrong side of the sliding scale. So he set my goal to move into the "good" category for % body fat, and that would be losing 3%. So we'll see....
So off I go, wish me luck. And lets hope I'm able to walk tomorrow to get up and do it again!
