celebrations all around

It's been so nice to fly back home for a family event that's actually a happy one--we haven't had many of those this past year. So when my niece said she wanted to celebrate her 21st w/ me, say no more, i'm there! And boy has it been fun. I arrived on thursday eve in time for family dinner. From there the pre game began as we couldn't get Erin into the bar until 11pm...so she and i challenged Steve and Shawn to beer pong, I showed my brother how it's done, PSU style ;) SO much fun. Then off to the bars we went. And boy did Erin fit right into that scene and oh how she reminds me of me....up on the bar in no time, feeling right at home :) I couldn't help but think how my mother wouldn't have loved to be right there with her! Aunt jen did her part by buying some rounds of shots etc...made sure she could hang with the famous rocky mountain mother-fucker that my friends and I would rally with back in my NYC days. She took it like a champ. So we bar hopped and finally at 2am we did the good ol mcdonald's run. mmmmmm. haven't had that in a while!

So tonight is erin's official birthday party--we'll see how she's doing after last night with her friends in Atlantic City (and me out w/ my gal friends so I feel like i'm too on my 3rd night of a bender). But all in good fun. I'm excited to hang w/ the fam tonight and celebrate some more and show some of those 21 year olds how it's done ;)
