Well i'm finally back from a couple of weeks on the road for work, including my birthday weekend in New Orleans. All and all everything went well but it was just too much traveling. 6 cities, 7 hotel rooms, 7 flights, all inside of 10 days. it was a lot. So needless to say, i'm VERY happy to be home and back in LA. Especially after experiencing all that humidity on the east coast from Phila to FL to NOLA, it was such a breath of fresh, cool, dry air when I arrived back in LA.
My trip did include some highlights like getting a quick pre birthday lunch in with my dad and 2 best friends. They even got me a little cake and lit the candles and sang to me. It was so nice to have that touch of home admist all my travels. And I did get a bit sad for a moment as they sung and my dad held my hand just knowing that my mom wasn't there. As the years and ages tick by it doesn't get any less difficult to not have her by my side or to not receive her card in the mail. It's just not the same and never will be. But I'm glad I was surrounded by those who can be here with me and that was nice.
Then off to New Orleans I went with my boss who also made my day feel very special--including decorating my hotel room with cards, streamers and a happy birthday sign. very cute. we had some great dinners out, lots of drinks on bourbon street and lots of laughs. I loved being back in NOLA even though it was rainy and humid. It's such an amazing place. And a bonus visit with some old coworkers and good friends from RT--Rachel/Steve/Tatum and Carla and Steve,all were there. It was great to kick off my bday with a drink with them as well. SO that was lovely. I also got my tarot cards read which was definitely interesting but I think i'll save that for another post as I'm a bit pressed for time right now. So here's just a couple pictures from my journey and more to follow. On to August we go!
