appreciatie it while you have it
Today I had to leave my apartment on 3 different occasions and each time I left I thought to myself how grateful I was to not have to get in my car and how much I love my neighborhood. This morning I went to the bank which is 3 blocks away, deposited two checks (love that errand :) and then picked up some birthday cards at B&N and then some special note cards at the paper store that's a block from my house. Then later I went 1 block to the post office before heading out for a run, with ocean view attached and then just now I ran to the whole foods on my corner to grab some snacks for my friend who's coming over. Each of these things took no time at all b/c my apartment is central to all of it. While I live with the uncertainty of where I'll live next I'm making sure I appreciate all the things about this apartment and its location while I have it. Like many things in life, it's all too often that it's not until they are gone that we look back and realize how good they were or how lucky we were to have experienced it.
So right now, look around your life and think of something or someone you appreciate. How can you honor that appreciation?
