does the heart follow a different set of rules?
So for the last year I've done nothing but study how to help people create change. What are the obstacles, what are the keys to success, what drives motivation, how to get 3 layers deeper to understand what's driving the need to be this way, etc etc. And as a result, I've become quite good at self analyzing myself -- I know myself better than anyone. Which may not sound all that impressive as we'd all like to think we know ourselves well, b/c well, it's you. But believe me, it's often not the case.
But somehow, despite all that I've learned, and my own ability to go deep within myself and know exactly what I need to do to help myself through a big transition or to make a change -- I seem to suck when it comes to a change that requires leaving something behind -- just walking away. As much as I pride myself on my gut and my instincts -- how is it that I can know in my gut when I should walk away but yet I still can't seem to do it 100%? Is it perhaps when it comes to matters of the heart the rules are different?
So what are the rules when it's matters of the heart? Are they different from that of our head/mind? We didn't learn that in my coaching program and it's a question I'm still pondering myself. Because if there's one thing I've learned, it's that the heart only knows what the heart knows aside from what the head tells it. And so when is it time to hit the override button vs when is it time to lean into the heart, despite what you "know" is best, and just be? I wonder...
