Greetings from Dallas, TX. Well actually from Flower Mound, some suburban community just outside of Dallas. It's true what they say here--everything is bigger, and I guess in some cases better. Everyone's home (and pools!) are gorgeous!! I've been on what feels like the BBQ tour, which is perfect for Memorial Day weekend. It seems the thing to do among your friends/family is go from backyard to backyard enjoying everyone's pool. It's already 97 down here so being in the pool has been an essential part of the weekend thus far.
I'm here visiting my very best guy friend, Vance. He and Rosa just got married in January in Mexico but unfortunately at the last minute I had to cancel b/c my Mom got sick. So I've been looking forward to getting down here to hang out with them and hear and see all the weddingness that I missed.
I arrived on Friday and Rosa picked me up and we immediately got into our bikinis, mixed up some sweet tea cocktails and gabbed by the pool. Later on we went over to Vance's parent's house which is also gorgeous. We took their boat out onto Lake Lewisville with some bottles of vino and watched the sunset. And after that we enjoyed quite a meal and lots more wine!
Saturday and Sunday were BBQ after BBQ and lots of drinks and pool time. It's been quite a fun, party weekend inclusive of frozen margarita machines, tons of jello shots and sweet tea cocktails! Oh, and I managed to get stung two times by the same bee--damn, I forgot how much that stings!
Today I think we're all ready for a low key day by the pool and I requested some good ol' mexican before I go. Oh, and of course we'll be watching the Flyers game, after all, Vance is who got me into hockey way back when :)
Just checking up and being quite jealous of your great Memorial Day. What a way to do barbecue! The girls were home yesterday and we did a backyard gig. Finally finished my planters and the deck looks pretty good. Al talked to your dad and we're trying to get together next week. By the way you look fabulous in the picture outside the idols studio. It's great that your friends are keeping you busy.
ReplyDeleteWho really wants to work? I do not think you will get bored too quickly. You need this down time...
Love ya,
Deb
