philadelphia in june

Other than the humidity which I knew would sneak back before my visit concluded, so far my trip East has been fabulous. It kicked off on Wed eve with two of my best gals--Tracey and Kelly! We used to have our monthly tradition of going to a different BYO the first Thursday of each month and sipping, eating, and talking the night away. Well we did just that but this time in Tracey's kitchen. I think we were all a bit shocked when we counted up the empty bottles at the end of the night...and with all Tracey's yummy snack's, it was just perfect. But despite their hubby's wondering how it's possible, we still had stuff to talk about the next night when we invited the boys to join us and hit one of my favorite BYO's, Mercato, with MORE wine :)

I also got to check out two new restaurants for lunch--Phila does have amazing food: Garces Trading Company (highly recommend the tasting menu, mmmmmm) and Zavino Wine Bar & Pizzeria. Both were outstanding, as was the company :) And i got to fit in a mani/pedi at my favorite place, a glass of wine at Tria and a stroll through Rittenhouse Square. To finish it all off, drinks at Smokin Betty's with my good friend Greg and dinner at another favorite place, Xochitl--mexican and margaritas with Kelly, Mike and Greg. Perfect ending to an awesome couple days of eating and drinking.

Now I'm back in the "burbs" which feels like the countryside it's so quiet. It's been a bit more of an emotional part of the trip but being with my awesome family and best friends I feel like I can get through anything! Stay tuned for more on that but for now I'm getting ready for yet another lunch :)
