Old friends are the best friends

I mentioned that I got to kick July off with quite a few east coast friends coming into town. And boy has it been fun. I celebrated America's birthday along with my good friend Gina's at her backyard BBQ in Venice--such a great scene. In town staying with her was Beth from San Fran and I also got to see another friend from Radnor, Brad. We all had such fun and Gina of course had quite the music mix--we nicknamed it DJ Howards mix and we're thinking about selling it for all of those Radnor High School memories :)

I also had such fun touring my friend Stacey around my neighborhood--we got in a couple beach days (once the overcast burned off!) and hit some of my favorite local places and even got a good run in. After all, Stacey was the one who motivated me to pick up running so it was good to run alongside her again.

Last night I had a chill night with just Gina and Beth before Beth went back to San Fran. We spent lots of time sipping wine and talking about my mom and the tragic past few months. God it makes such a difference to talk to people that have known you your whole life AND knew and remember my mom. I shed some tears and shared my speech with them--all good things to do according to my therapist :) It was a good night of reconnecting with wonderful childhood friends.

Now I'm waiting for Johanna to head to LA after her pit stop with the family in Disney and we're going to spend time in LA and San Diego together. Another besty from home, so happy to have all these visitors. God it feels good.
