You Go Girl
Just at a time when I would LOVE to hear my mom's encouragement on my newly discovered path, a sign appears. One of the dear people I met on my weekend away in Santa Barbara (ironically someone who I already knew and was there for me during my mom's illness) who just happened to be assigned to my same small group and with whom I bonded with significantly, sent me this link: http://www.moxieexchange.com/shop#axzz1XkGaq0Zn
I had shared w/ my small group how important the phrase You Go Girl was to me b/c of my Mom. How she always told it to me and I even bought her a wooden sign that I saw in a store one day in Philadelphia that had our saying on it and she hung it proudly in her favorite hideaway in Myrtle Beach. SO you can imagine how much it meant to me when my newly found friend, someone who I believe will remain part of my support system as I move through this next chapter of life, sent this to me.
So of course I've gone ahead and bought myself one but I decided I'm also going to surprise my family--the gals--with their own. So my very near and dear sister-in-laws and most of all my nieces. I want them to know that their Nanaleen is always cheering them on, like she always did me. And so whether they wear their bracelet on their wrist or keep it in their jewelry box, I want them to always have it and think of their biggest fan, the person that loved them so much and was just lit up by their presence, their Nanaleen.
The signs are there, sometimes you just need to look for them, or allow others to point them out. So I thank the person that pointed this out to me, and I now proudly wear my You Go Girl bracelet in the color of lime green, a color my mom loved. xoxo
