A day at the range

Just another activity in LA, at the Angeles National Forest, shooting guns! I went with a couple of girlfriends to a "meet up" event and provided by large X Marines were a plethora of guns for our learning and shooting pleasure. It was quite a scene.

So we signed our consent form that we are "sane" enough to be in the company of numerous fire arms, put in our ear plugs and grabbed our safety glasses and away we went. First it was rifles, I shot a 22 and then I laid down on the ground to learn how to shoot a "sniper" rifle...with a scope. Pretty cool. Then we upgraded to those that have a bit more "kick back"--a combat style P22 pistol, and damn that was intense. I preferred it b/c I felt i actual had a handle on the gun--and I hit one of the metal targets! And finally we learned how to shoot a shotgun while stepping on a pedal to release these orange disks that we are suppose to aim and shoot at--ha! That was funny, we could barley manage the gun let alone aim and shoot.

So a round of shooting led to a ladies lunch afterwards and I must say, it was quite an enjoyable Saturday.
