more cooking and more yoga

I'm trying to be better about cooking at home. Not only to eat better but to also make cooking into somewhat of a hobby. I do find it relaxing. It's just often I'm not up for a whole meal prep by the time I get home b/w the hours I work and my commute but I can throw something together. Tonight's menu was Sea Bass, sauteed broccoli rabe and parmesan risotto (while i do fancy myself on my risotto skills, this was out of a box--and tasted like it :( But all in all the meal was quite yummy.

Mom loved to cook and it would make me the happiest person in the world if I could even come close to mastering her skills. She always told me when she first met my Dad she had NO idea how to cook anything--she even messed up pancakes out of a box :) But in time she mastered more meals than most chefs and they were all incredible. I hope she's passed that down to me.

Among my other things I'm trying to do more of is Yoga. I finally went after many months off and man did it kick my butt--can barely raise my arms above my head! But I loved it. So I'm gonna make sure I find time on my weekends to do more yoga. It's peaceful yet hard work--just what i need mentally and physically.

That's all I got for now. Almost time for Jack Bauer, my favorite part of Monday--when 24 is on Fox!
