Ostrich Pillows

I got 'em! Two gorgeous pillows for my living room sofa. Mom would've LOVED them.

For those of you who don't know the story...minutes after touching back down in LA from being in Phila when my mom passed away, a friend picked me up at the airport. We're in the car and she's telling me how when I least expect it, there will be signs and I'll know my mom is with me. While we're driving and chatting, Gina mentions she has to make a quick pit stop at a furniture store on our way home. We stop in and I'm wandering around and wouldn't you know, but here are these gorgeous pilllows--with Otriches on them! Not only was Mom wanting to buy me new throw pillows to "update" my living room when she came to visit (we settled on my big indoor plant/tree instead) but she loved anything that had an Ostrich on it--for the obvious reason. So normally I would've bought them for her, but I didn't. And at that moment I passed on them. But my dear friend Vera found them online after reading about me seeing them and they were much cheaper (still more than I'd spend on a pillow but worth it!).

So two pillows later, I'm filled with a smile when I glance over and see them on my sofa. It's as if I just got a present from my Mom.

  1. Sorry Jen , It's been a while since I've checked in, but life's been happenning again. I had somewhat of a personal health issue and thankfully it turned out okay. Pretty scary for about a month though.

When I checked in I saw that you had gotten the pillows. Yeah, I really think your mom wanted you to have them. Glad to see you are cooking and becoming somewhat of a good cook. Your mom is probably cheering and beside herself because she can't help. I miss her too, what with the golf at the course starting up and the spring weather. Al and I've been talking about the Poconos at Caesars and going in June. Can't help but thinking about Kate, how much fun we had, and how I'll miss her.
Well Jen, keep plugging away, going to yoga and remembering that your mom is always with you.

    Love ya,
    Deb
